does anybody know why dell doesn't sell their computers in stores?

They sell them at dell kiosks. They don't sell them in Best Buy, Circuit City, etc... b/c they want to "keep costs down" what they really are doing is charging the same with less overhead and putting more money in the pockets of investors. They also can let you talk to someone on the phone so its easier to avoid customer problems. This might not have been planned but just happens to be a great side effect for them.

I think it's more in theory that they were to be putting more money into investors portfolio "pockets" but yeah, even that has backfired. What a piece of dump stock that is. I received 3 shares during the last ESPP, where I got a 15% discount on the stock. The price of the stock is now below what I paid for it. I'm glad it was only 3 shares. worthless worthless company.
