Hello my cousin and her husband order a Dell a few years ago for there childern's christmas. They told me they were going to have it shipped to my house so there kids want find it and that made alot of sense right? Well i got it here and i asked them if it was ok if i went ahead and got all windows updates ETC because kids would not to want to wait for that on christmas morning. But anyway i got them all ok every single one of them. I installed Norton and updated it. And packe dit back up. A few months after they ha dit they started haveing problems. I could not get tech support to help me they said the name didn't match the address. I explained to them why it was sent to my house they still would not help. Boy dell i really could have had a lawsuit on this one. Why? For not supporting a product under warrenty. It wasn't my place to sew them. But if it would have been be i would have really sewed them big time.

there are ways around it. For instance:

"Who may I ask is calling?"
"I'm calling on behalf of my cousin RAID0. My name is Floppy_Drive."

"Can I verify your phone and address?"
"The address the computer was shipped to was ...
but we are now located at ....
can you please update that information?"

Problem solved.

I don't think it's a good one Badger.

I'd just say the name, phone and address of the person who bought it.

Problem solved.

If any Dell rep helped you, Dell would have broken the law.

Correct. What I wonder about is, what kind of problems were they experiencing?
