| There seems to be a new game in town as far as break/fix hardware service goes. They call themselves Captovis Advanced Industries, Inc. Was wondering if anyone has started working for them yet? |

| Hey, it's great to be labeled a spammer right off the bat, that way you do a lot to live up to. Anyway, Captovis is real entity, and was really just curious if they were legit or not. Sorry to disappoint on the spammer appellation. |

i dont have much information to offer, but i found out about them on craigslist, filled out a little faux resume form last evening, someone called me today and talked to me about what they do, sounds a lot like, onforce, except actually having contracts with companies, as far as i know onforce doesnt.
only thing i have noticed different is the requirement of a ein. anyways, i am signing up, i will give more info as i receive it. i would like to know more if anyone else has worked with them.

We also have signed up but have no real info yet . We were told they do repairs on computers and electronics in warranty . You dont diagnois problem . You just replace item such as bad dvd drive ect. I also found them on craigs list . Only thing I found strange was we initially received a message left on answering machine from a man calling himself Rob . We did return his call and talked to him . Then we received an email about forms to download and sign and send back . Then email addy was signed by someone named Hector. Well we called Hector because we had a question about the liability insurance requirements . Well Hector sounded exactly like Rob hahahaha it was the same voice same person . Just kinda weird .
Anyways I just joined up on this site tonite . found it cuz I was looking for info on this company . Hi to all and I will keep ya posted if I find out anything or get any jobs from them
Thanks and good to meet you all !!!! |

So the contract requires that you purchase liability insurance? Forget it! I'd rather work through another company until I get enough customers to work for myself, then purchase it (insurance) and incorporate. This is asking a lot for "lowly" break/fix technician. Maybe we need a good IT union. |

yea, i got the same deal of receiving a call from rob, and an email from hector, didnt notice similarity in voice though (wasnt paying attention), just shows me what a small operation it is, i would assume.
and if that is true about the insurance, that is ridiculous, the preemptive things they were asking i thought were a little too much, but geez, where i am located i only get an average of 10 dell calls a week, and maybe 3 ibm a month, im not going through all that trouble for 2 calls a month. |

| I have first hand knowllege that captovis is logit. I have worked with the gwntlemen involved. They ask for EIN's because they only work contractors. |

| According to some of the other posters here they not only require an EIN, but ask you to purchase liability insurance as well. Have they kept you busy enough to justify this? And if so, what area do you work in? |

I can't speak to the Captovis track record because there isn't much, BUT I am familiar with a couple of the team members, Rod and Hector. I've worked with them in the trenches at Syntechs in support of Dell, Lexmark, and others. They were two of the high points of working there.
They are both men of integrity who left a company without integrity because of broken promises and unmet commitments by their managers.
They are both bright, hard working, and real mensches, who I believe have something to prove -- that this game can be played on a WIN-WIN basis. I wish them the best. |

|
| Are you a shill for Captovis? Not accusing them of anything, but wondering about those working under the new contractual arrangement for break/fix techs. Many of us are shell-shocked because of bad experiences with Qualx, Bantec and others. It's ok if Captovis is just starting out. That's nothing to be ashamed of. We just want to know. |

| No, I'm not a shill for Captovis and yes they're just starting out. But having been burned like you guys I'm hopeful that a company started by guys who couldn't stomach the crap and left, may do better. Stay tuned. We'll find out. |

| I have completed several work orders but I have been paid on the 15th of each month. I am wondering if others are having the same problem in getting paid. |

I've had problems getting paid for anything I do. Right now I have work orders sitting there and have notified Captovis that I refuse to complete any of them until I get payment for the work I am owed for.
I have consulted an attorney and if I am not paid this month, I will begin filing papers for mechanical lien on each and every piece of equipment I have serviced. Someone is going to pay me whether it's Captovis or the customer. |
