Last year I bought a dell computer. Man was I happy I was getting a prime computer from a good company. I recieved the computer and found out that it would boot to safe mode but once there the computer would frezze up after hitting any key on the keyboard. I called Dell support and after hours and hours trying to fix the problem I was able to get it replaced. That was okay with me but after the long wait to get it replaced I found out that the new one had the exact same problem!!@! I wrote to dell and recieved no answer and fianlly settled for this piece of junk that I still have, thinking that I would never need to boot to safe mode. Well Dell now I need to boot to safe mode but do you know what I can't. I am a dummy for settling for the piece of SH_T that I have, so it is my own fault but I will never buy Dell ANYTHING EVER AGAIN!!! and I am telling anyone who will listen what kind of product that Dell sells. I want them to go bankrupt, broke, belly up, them and the people in India that works for them.

I can understand your frustruation
...but...
What's wrong with the people in India that work for Dell
What kind of racist statement is that
If you still have your computer you can post your issue in the Computer Help section and lots of technicians will try to help you. _________________ I see DELL people!!

Ha Ha
In the first place I like the Indians as much as you. Second: I know that the comp was like this when I recieved it since the failures are logged in the boot log in the BIOS, a week before it was delivered. Third: I hate DELL and all that stand for them!!!
You customer reps people are justifying my decision on that score.
I hate outsourcing.

I am just curious, what made you believe this before you bought your Dell? I am not a rep. I am just curious on why you bought a Dell in the first place? And no I am not trying to flame or anything. Was it the mass marketing you see on the TV everyday? Was it the fact that everyone on your street had a Dell and you had to get one? Was it the fact you work with Dell or was it that 'computer expert' that said Dell were the best?
I am sure you have regret it. I was would like to know what mindset people have when they order their Dell? Was it the low prices or the award winning service?
Again this isn't a flame. |

Before I bought a Dell I had an HP it was ok but the hard drive had so much software on it it took up half the drive (80 Gigs) I didnt have any CDs to back up any failures, and I beleived the Dell commercials. I thought that the Dell was the way to go. I have learned alot since then and I am trully sorry that I bought a Dell. I now plan on building my own from barebones. that way I can get what software I want and nothing else. Plus I have the CDs to back up any problems.
Anything goes wrong I have myself to blame. So far, I have figured out any problems myself except how to boot to safe mode on my Dell. _________________ to thine own self be true |

yea, I really think that is the main problem with everything nowadays. I believe marketing is so evil in the computer industry. There is going to be some breaking point in the future. The problem is we are stuck in this hell. Take their ads for instance, Dell flashes a price on the screen of coarse it is the after rebates price. Also sometimes a monitor is shown yet not included. And the picture also has speakers which are not included. They throw up a number that people can say "okay that is what a new computer should cost". Correct, that is what a bottom of the barrel POS computer AFTER rebates inwhich you are going to hassle to get price.
I just find interesting that Dell protrays themselves as the "BMWs" of PCs. And every type of class is eating that up. I own a computer store. Believe me, we get the elite rich snobs in here once and while. And they thick they should be treated higher because they got a Dell. And then I would get some white trash Jerry Springer wannabe coming in here with the same Dell. It is like they feel like they are too elite because they got a Dell too.
I am just hoping some company would come out and sell 1500 dollars computers. And their angle would be: hey you pay a lot but at least you know you would get no hold time, no non american accents, and your computer isn't a POS. |

Yes ShaftDu, marketing is evil. Especially the lowest possible price flashing on your screen. But Dell does it, MDG does it, Ford & Chev & Honda all do it... it's simple marketing! It's the reason that things cost $1.99 at the grocery store. It's actually $2, but seeing the $1 there makes you think it's far cheaper than it is. Sorry for your luck BDAHI, but I hope you can salvage some parts from this one to put into your new system whenever you build it. What error message is it giving in the BIOS? _________________ I may not agree with what you say, but I will fight for your right to say it.
