The most common hardware failure causing BSOD is mechanically-defective memory. Coarse diagnostics are on your original thread. http://www.ihatedell.net/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=24463#24463 _________________ Rocke T Sinetist

I agree with Rocke, knowing myself that RAM is top part to fail, followed by hard drive and then so on down the list. Suspect RAM right away especially if the mobo was replaced already. The tech may have misaligned the RAM or hosed the socket - who knows?
If you could, post the exact message that you're getting (looks like 0x000000?? where the ? can be anything). That message alone will provide a lot of insight.
OR...
I can post a couple common ones and you can see if they apply.
0x000000ED Unmountable Boot Volume
- this means the hard drive is failing, it can be "fixed" but only for a short while
0x0000007E or 8E
- both indicate failed RAM
0x00000050 Page Fault In Non Paged Area
- failed RAM always
0x0000000A
- bad PAGEFILE, the current file needs to be purged and a new pagefile made
Maybe one of those? If not, post the one you have and it'll give us more to work with. |
