Anyhow, I'd follow ShaftDu's advise and purchase a Sony, don't be a cheap bastard, your Dell TV won't last long

I strongly agree with you dude !.... ill only buy the dell TV if they place there Trinitron picture tubes. rather than Shadow Mask tubes or Quintrix tube. i bought a 19"Sony flat monitor 3 yrs ago.. until now.. it's still up and running .
but lemme see if they can give one DELL Tv. ill accept it .. for free Rolling Eyes Laughing Laughing

Attractive and impressive as they look in the store, LCD and plasma TVs are not supported by what little is left of the electronics service industry. The 'throwaway consumer culture' is OK unless you're talking about throwing away a year-old device that cost $3000. And at this time, Dell TVs, and all other brands of unknown origin (everything EXCEPT Sony and Panasonic), can't be serviced. They can only be replaced. Outside warranty, that means buying another one.

There's another thread on this site about Dell TV, where the customer THOUGHT their bases were covered by the extended-warranty coverage of their credit card. The CC warranty guy says "get an estimate and we'll pay it". Catch: You can't get an estimate on something that can't be repaired! So this customer has a $3000 13-month-old boondoggle that won't turn on, and no option other than throwing it away!

Don't let this happen to YOU!

I bought an Insignia TV at Best Buy today... it lasted 45 minutes. I swear to god I hooked it up and started watching a movie and 45 minutes in it went black and now it won't do anything but pop when I hit the power button. I have tried different power outlets, its the piece of crap tv. Is that a record?

What's the model number of your TV Question

Best Buy has a 30 day total satisfaction policy, Insignia gives you a 90 day manufacturer warranty...Harry up Exclamation
