Anyone here know why a Inspiron 5150 battery won't charge? It's a known, working good battery. Could it be a loose connection on the battery compartment, or a short (on batt)?
Basically, the LED on the front panel does not blink (when it should.) Laptop works fine on AC
Also, when the batt is removed while the unit is on AC power, the whole unit shuts down and the LEDs blink. What does this mean? MoBo issues |

Yep, motherboard issues. The charger is on the motherboard. The path to operate the system off adapter and to charge the battery are separate, and the latter has failed. _________________ Rocke T Sinetist

When you plug your AC Adapter into your system, what color is the LED on the brick of the adapter? Amber indicates a battery charger board failure.
Sounds like a motherboard replacement. Good luck. |
