It is very wrong for me as a PERSON to arrive at work to giant banners of rainbows and gay pride signs and be told that i have to go hear a speech given in order to tell me its ok for someone else to be gay and that i need to be tolerant and accepting of them......excuse me see #1. However my workplace is extremely hostile cause now i am being told i have to feel somthing for someone that i doint give a shit about. I dont feel anything about homosexuality good or bad...i dont care. It exist. But now i am TOLD i have to feel good about it.All religion ,sex,and such should not be allowed in the workplace.

4. Let me be clear gay or not is not the issue. The issue is corperate brainwashing. They want to control what you think and feel. Remember you are ok just because you exist on the world. Therefore you have a place here. Its not my call to say if thats good or bad. It simply is. It is Very wrong for a business to TELl me MY opinion and to subject me to pro--(insert cause here) programing.

Good post Rufus, a little angry though. I agree that a person's sexual preference, religion, or even how them wipe themself has no place at work. maybe someone at Dell will read this and realize we don't want someone's life shoved down our throat for a month.

I will never be forced to endure a "gay pride" speech of ANY design. EVER. If that's the case then I'll demand to immediately go up and make a "I like to fuck whores and skanks, and I'm proud too" speech and see how they like it. There's no difference, it's all about proclaiming your preference, right? Making sure that ALL are aware and "tolerant" of it?

Jesus Christ people need a clue. Gay pride month...holy Hell. Fuck a hooker month is what we need next.

Scoop was right, it's very hard to be calm and objective about this issue, but it IS pertinent to Dell as long as they vocally and extraordinarily support a staff subgroup on the basis of what they like to stick their reproductive plumbing into. Canteloupe Pride? Sofa-cushion Pride? And for the ladies, Cucumber Pride with a separate day for peeled and unpeeled?

There's really only one side to this issue, and virtually ALL institutions already state it in their terms and conditions of employment: Sex is NOT a valid workplace issue AT ALL.

The question becomes, why does Dell then willfully violate their own terms when it comes to homosexuality? In Dell's case, like so many other of their corporate interactions with individuals, it's a dodge. So that when a PIPed gay employee sues them, they can say "look, we support diversity".

All this boo-rah over a simple biological function. Structurally, sexual arousal is most closely akin to a stuffy nose, fer Chrissake. Stuffy nose is a side effect of Viagra, Levitra, Cialis. Sneeze and get over it. (Neurologically, sexual climax IS a sneeze, albeit with more endocrinological ramifications.)

Speaking of Chrissake, He never meant it to be, but the damnation of gays is almost entirely rooted in religion, ANOTHER issue that is specifically excluded from the workplace. How did religion get from their lip-service "do unto others" (live and let live) prime directive, to scourging homosexuality?

Well, two big ones, Judaism and Catholicism, institutionally prohibit any sexual act that doesn't result in more Jews or Catholics. It's a legacy issue from the time when the propagation of organized religion depended upon expanding numbers of 'believers'. Which puts it in exactly the same category as the Afghan dude threatened with the death penalty for converting from Islam.

Homosexuality does NOT appear in any of the original Judeo-Christian scriptures. References to it were added in revisions as religious groups realized and exercised their ability to control people in furtherance of their own agendas.

Religion is a great thing, on paper. But like so many 'great things', when the administration of it is turned over to humans, it gets grossly subverted to serve principles that would have Jesus (Muhammad, Ganesh, Liberace, Whoever) rolling over in his grave.

On an even more South-Parkian note, kudos to Scientology for being the only religion founded on the beliefs of a third-tier science fiction author and not a 'prophet'. Does their finger-ohmmeter gizmo register gayness? If so, the National Enquirer would pay a half million for a look at Tom Cruise's readings.

I was off work and 360 miles to the west during "Gay pride month" . Because i was 360 miles to the west AND OFF FROM WORK. I was sent to an HR rep and lectured on tolerance because i didn't attend a meeting to celebrate gay pride month. remember i was 360 miles away and off from work yet I was intolerant of gay people because I didn't come hear so and so speak at a gay pride function. Dell is intolerant of any one who has a family or anything that could overshadow Dell as GOD to its employees. Fuck Dell.
