in the Round Rock office?
If you were interviewed for the business to business sales, or DHS, were you hired on the spot or called back at a later date?
What all test did you have to take?
How many people were giving the interview, and when was your interview?
Even if you weren't hired, any information is helpful. |

They have baseline qualifications--speak English, not addicted to drugs--and preferences (like NOT having a better job on your resume). Otherwise, Sales will hire anybody.
Sales is a meatgrinder though. Always has been. Even before Dell was a hellhole across-the-board.
I hope you get it. I hope you WANT it, once you find out what it is.
Some people are ideally suited to phone sales. They are good at it and they love it. Dell laid off around a hundred of those over the last 6 years. It won't matter how good you are or how much you like it. Keep your eyes on what you want to do NEXT. _________________ Rocke T Sinetist

I've been in outside sales for a long time, I have done phone sales back in the days, and I've also been in other ruthless sales positions. I love sales. You're either cut out for sales or you're not. Sales jobs are the same, and if you hate one, you will hate them all.
I do want the job. I was just a little worried when they told me they would call me in a week. A lot of places hire you on the spot. |

Yep, sounds like you know what you're stepping in. Sales works GREAT for some folks.
They'll probably call you in a week. Dell does everything in VOLUME, so it takes them a while to get around to each person.
Don't stop looking, though. _________________ Rocke T Sinetist

In my opinion, I would take Rocke's advice to heart. Keep your options open. I come from a 10 year background in call center operations for a major software and technology company. What I will say is this: It is a sweatshop. It is grind. It does get old. You are vastly expendable. The pay is less than most ditch digger occupations.
Lastly, the word "Dell" does NOTHING for your resume, so have no misguided thoughts that it does.
I have attached my story here:

you pretty much take a test, the test will determine if your skills are suitable for either b2b or dhs, etc.
then they interview you with really generic question, my interview lasted about 5 minutes and i was hired on the spot DHS |
