I spent several hours on the phone speaking to Dell tech support in India, without results. One of the more memorable conversations went like this:
"Begin by turning off all the LEDs on your keyboard."
"My keyboard doesn't have any LEDs."
Pause.
"You must turn off the LEDs on your keyboard."
"My keyboard doesn't have any LEDs."
Longer pause.
"I can't help you if you don't turn off the LEDs."

I've never had a Dell keyboard that didn't have the LEDs. I had Dell send a couple of cheap junk keyboards recently that had no LEDs and I promptly sent them back. They were crap USB keyboards also. One reason Dell replaced my 8300 with an XPS 600 is because I insisted on a computer with a PS2 port so I could use my Dell Quiet Keyboard which I have had several of and used exclusively since 1999.
What is it with the crappy Dell keyboards today? Why would anyone want a keyboard with no LEDs? This just another sign of the junk Dell is selling now. ...you have pay big bucks now to get a Dell with a PS2 port yet the best Dell keyboard uses a PS2 port. ( And don't get me going on the lack of a parallel port on current Dells). |

Foxconn is a royal hosebag company. Their stuff is strictly JBA (just barely adequate). And the way they treat their staff was adopted from Turkish prisons. Lowest of the lowest bidders, in every sense of the word. _________________ Rocke T Sinetist
