What's sad is she said, "I can't [put this statement in] email this to you until I get some more documentation", in other words, "If I find out that I screwed up, I'll deny what I said, therefore, I can't give you this statement in a form that's documentable." Hello, if she made the statement, then it's a binding contract, and the fact that the statement is wrong doesn't let her undo the fact that she said it. |

I cant speak on US law, but here in canada you can record with...or without their knowledge and that recording IS ADMISSIBLE in court. It falls under section 173.1 of the criminal Code of Canada. As long as one of the people in the conversation (You) is knowledgeable and consenting of the recording, no other permission or consent is required.
