Those All-Hands sessions might very well be intended only for the survivors! The essence of the meeting will be to show the new organization charts. The casualties will have already been ushered out by then. That was one of the ploys in RR and Parmer South during 2001's "rightsizing".
As always, my prayers and best wishes go out to the many good people still at Dell, but if the ax does fall on you, keep the faith! There IS life after Dell. They could not get me back there even with a two pay-grade promotion, because I'd be taking a salary cut and going back to a job I loved for many years but grew to despise; in the end it was clear the weasels were running the hen-house. |

I know this is nothing new, but I think tomorrow is the final day for me. I missed Saturday even though my boss was pissed, but he was trying to have a meeting about my future with Dell! I am going to try to get tomorrow off also so that I can be out of the loop when they try to make me sign some more papers; luckily I got my belongings home as of Friday!!!
Thanks for the insight guys, so far all it has been as bad as everyone said it would be. I wouldn't be surprised if they are planning a serious holocaust like you guys were saying. When is the real question... Hopefully it is just me getting fired, but knowing Dell, they can do a lot more than that! Everyone get their stuff home ASAP if you have anything you want to keep in the next weeks.

If tomorrow is your last day, just make sure that you are ready for it. Dell likes to make things sentimental it seems, like make meetings or fun events in lieu of site closure.
Anyways, hope you guys watch your backs, I am not in the Call Center divisions any longer, so I have a lot more to lose. I hope they don't even think about hammering me, because I will bite back.
I understand everyone has families and Dell is pretty cutthroat. There looks like there are some serious ominous events looming on the horizon for the U.S. Call Centers. I think it should be noted that we need to look at every opportunity we have to provide for them.
Take it easy. |

In this conference, the importance of our current international changes will be assessed:
Customer satisfaction remains the key to our success. We have the need for this, and to execute newer guidelines within the corporation is fundamental. These will keep us the respected name in business.
Continuing to have the best interests of our customers in mind, increased fluctuations in headcount may be seen. This is important so that we maintain the character and morale that our company needs in the eye of the consumer. Although our number of buyers grow, the efficiency at meeting their needs must be emphasized.
Our worldwide movement will unite many places of value. The decision to expand allows Dell to continue, all the while involving support from many countries.
We will begin to work with our distant sites more personally, fueling better representation globally. At least temporarily, U.S. management has been relocated to these sites.
Certain steps will be made to ensure our current success. We are to be fully capable of handling most of our North American consumers offshore, starting end-of-quarter. We look forward to making the necessary changes to keep this available.
As the high flow of international consumers has posed a good market, we will extend our services to them. These remote locations have evolved to current standards. This increase in capability should provide us with a more complete approach to our future.
THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING DELL

| This guy is not real..its someone sitting there making this shit up. I know from experience with companies...the owner is not going to go online to a website and state all this..its something that is trying to scare you. I spoke with my manager on all of this and he told me yes..consumer will be closing that we need to get out asap..but as for business, ATG, and other departments...IF Michael Dell is planning on moving operations offshore..it will be at least a 2 year process...he cannot provide the headcount offshore to cover all of the business that quick. He would be cutting his own throat if he were to do that. Dont let this letter scare you. Micheal Dell may be heartless when it comes to the business..but he is not going to cut is own throat in the process. |

I was just called this morning before I had a chance to call in. They told me that I was no longer to return to work for Dell... Who cares? I talked with my wife and we are just going to take some money out of savings for awhile. My hope is that Dell realizes they fired a good employee and that they get what's coming to them.
I guess Dell does have the right to close consumer, but it is still nothing to worry about if you are in the other divisions. It is the way they do it that is so f----- up. Hope you guys learn to move on when you can. I hope I can still get unemployment also...

Hopefully it is just consumer then. That is what I think is going on, but it will force me to have to watch my back then. |

I am sure Dell wants to make as much money as possible. Why wouldn't they jump on the opportunity to fire expensive employees?

Part of me wants to say I am sorry you had to endure that call... the rest of me remains jealous... you are free and can focus on finding a new path and hopefully that path will lead to bigger and better horizons... The footsteps that you are following are of those who agree on one thing... Freedom... they no longer have to worry about when... Everyone I have asked who got the boot within the last year- they seemed Relieved... and sure once the shock wears off... you too will feel the relief... _________________ Released in 2008! |

| My team is supposed to be having a meeting about some serious changes we need to make. I asked my boss if we were to going to get fired and he said, "Probably not all just yet." Although it felt sarcastic, there seemed to be some fear. It seems that even management is falling into this sad thinking now. At least this website is a record of the shit we are going through. Maybe they know something we don't; even at a team lead level. |

| Since Dell knows that consumer is not as profitable as business, they are just giving them a less smooth kick out of the U.S. We can all tell from our prior experiences that Dell wants to move everyone away from pay. I can't wait until everyone figures out what happens end-of-quarter... |
